6.41

Burro's latest update brings smarter multi-robot traffic coordination, more precise lidar row tracking, faster route planning, and a new emergency braking system — keeping your fleet safer and moving more efficiently in the field.

What's new with Burro 6.41?

This release is about trust — trusting that your Burros will make it through a full day without intervention. We've gone deep on the things that quietly interrupt operations: robots hesitating at shared sections, navigation drifting in tricky rows, safety systems that react a beat too late. The result is a fleet that coordinates better, holds its line more precisely, and handles the unexpected without pulling you in. Here's what's new.

⭐️ Improvements

The Fleet Moves as One 🤝

Running multiple Burros in the same space should feel effortless — and with this update, it's closer than ever.

No more unnecessary stops.
Burros now check whether the path ahead is actually occupied before slowing down at shared sections. If the way is clear, they keep moving. What used to look like hesitation is now gone.

Deadlocks are a thing of the past.
When two Burros approached each other at the same moment, they could both stop and wait for the other to go first — stuck in a standoff. That's fixed. Burros now make fast, coordinated decisions about who moves and who waits, so the whole fleet stays in flow.

Faster decisions, more uptime.
We've tightened the window in which Burros commit to yield/proceed calls. Less deliberating, more moving.

Rows, Start to Finish 🌿

A Burro's job is to complete rows cleanly — entering straight, staying on course, and transitioning without drama. This release makes that more reliable across the board.

Lidar row centering.
Burros now track more precisely down rows even when foliage is uneven or overhanging, staying centered through the full length of a pass rather than drifting toward one side.

Smoother headland transitions.
Row-to-row turns at the headlands are more fluid and consistent. The multi-pass transition logic has been refined so your Burros move through the turn predictably every time.

Faster path planning.
When navigating to a single destination, Burros calculate their route more quickly — cutting the time between receiving the instruction and actually moving.

More responsive control.
Path prediction now runs at a higher frequency, making Burros feel sharper and more precise throughout a run.

No more false stops out of GPS-denied rows.
When a Burro exits a GPS-denied section, sudden jumps in its position estimate could mistakenly trigger a stop. That's resolved — your Burros will keep moving as expected.

Smoother direction changes.
Switching between forward and reverse is now more fluid, with none of the jerkiness that could appear at the transition point.

Catch errors before you start operating.
Missions now go through a full validation check before being sent to the field. Configuration issues are flagged upfront, so you're not discovering problems mid-run.

Safety, Built In 🛡️

The best safety features are the ones that work quietly in the background — and that's exactly what these updates do.

Dedicated emergency braking. A new, independent braking system now runs alongside the main software stack. It reacts faster to sudden obstacles, adding a dedicated layer of protection without relying on the primary navigation software.

Smarter stopping distances in Time-to-Collision mode. When TTC mode is active, Burros now automatically extend their following distance — giving more time to react without any input from you.

New: Reduced Obstacle Sensitivity toggle. Operators can now adjust how aggressively Burros detect obstacles. This is especially useful in dense vegetation or challenging terrain where overly sensitive detection was causing unnecessary stops.

Ready When You Are ⚙️

Better tools before a run starts — and better visibility while it's running.

Richer telemetry out of the box. The MQTT Cloud API is now enabled across all units by default, making it easier to pull live robot data into your own systems and giving you a richer picture of fleet performance.

Cleaner mission display. The task list view in BOSS has been updated to be more consistent and readable — a small change that makes a real difference during busy days.

More reliable third-party integrations. The serial communication handshake now works across any connection type, making accessories like sprayer controllers more dependable.
