Control How Your Robot Moves Between Tasks

Looped Missions allow your robot to automatically run the same mission multiple times. Task Transitions are a key part of this, giving you precise control over how your robot moves from one task to the next within a mission.

Whether you need the robot to pause for a manual check or seamlessly continue its work, Task Transitions let you choose the perfect progression for your operational needs.

What are Task Transitions?

Task Transitions define what happens after your robot completes one task and before it starts the next. There are two types:

1. Auto Transition

The robot pauses for a set “wait time” you define, then automatically begins the next task on its own. This is perfect for uninterrupted workflows and continuous loops.

2. Manual Transition

The robot completes the current task and then waits for a field operator to manually tap “Start” to continue to the next task. This is ideal for situations requiring human intervention, like loading/unloading, safety checks, or when you need to confirm conditions before proceeding.

How to Set Up Task Transitions

Follow these simple steps to configure transitions for your robot’s missions:

  1. Edit Your Mission Start by navigating to the mission you wish to edit on your robot’s interface.

  2. Locate the Transition Icon Next to each task in your mission list, you’ll see a circular icon. This is the Transition icon. It might show a clock or a time (e.g., “5 s”) if a wait time is already set.

  3. Tap the Transition Icon Tap this icon for the task before the transition you want to control. For example, if you want to control the transition from “Zone B - Row 11” to “Packing Line”, you would tap the icon next to “Zone B - Row 11”.

  4. Choose Your Transition Type A “Transition” pop-up will appear, allowing you to select either Manual or Auto.

    • For Manual Transition: - Select the Manual tab. - The screen will display a message like: “Operator must manually start the next task.” - Tap Save.
    • For Auto Transition: - Select the Auto tab. - A numeric keypad will appear. Enter the desired wait time in seconds. This is how long the robot will pause after completing the current task before automatically starting the next one. - Tap Save.
  5. Save Your Updates After setting your transition, ensure you save the overall mission updates to apply your changes.

Quick Notes

  • Default Setting: The default transition type for any new task is Manual. You must update it per task if you want an automatic transition.
  • Wait Time: The “Wait time” (in seconds) option is only available and applicable for Automatic transitions.
  • Robot Always Stops First: Regardless of the transition type (Manual or Auto), the robot will always come to a complete stop after finishing a task before proceeding or waiting.
  • Applies to Next Task: The transition rule you set applies only to the progression from the current task to the next task in the sequence.
  • Pair with Repeat Mission: For truly uninterrupted, continuous operations, use Task Transitions in conjunction with the “Repeat Mission” feature. This allows your robot to run missions in endless loops, or to manage specific detours around restricted areas efficiently.
