Unboxing
Depending on the size of your order, your Burros will arrive either crated or by truckload. Each shipment contains Burros stacked in pairs, so proper handling is important. Follow these steps to safely unpack and prepare your Burros for use.

Unpacking Burros
Untie Straps
Untie all straps securing the Burros to the pallet.
Lift Burro with Help
With the help of another person, carefully lift the Burro and place it on the ground.
Setting Up the Batteries
Each Burro comes with 2 Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries as well as 2 Anderson connectors to connect to the Burro.
Steps to Set Up the Batteries:
Bolt Anderson Connectors
Bolt the Anderson connectors onto the battery to the positive and negative terminals, respectively.
Place Batteries
Place each battery into the battery slots in both the front and back of the Burro.
Tighten Logo Bracket
Once these are placed, tighten down the Burro logo bracket appropriately.
Ready to Power On
Your Burro is now ready to be powered on.
Installing the LiDAR Hoop
- Qty (4) - M10x30mm bolts (PN 438-00054)
- Qty (2) - M10x75mm bolts (PN 438-00077)
- Qty (2) - M10 lock nuts (PN 433-00002)
- Loctite 243 - Amazon
This is likely a 2-person job, with one person holding either end of the hoop.
Installing the Hoop:
Position LiDAR Hoop
Position the LiDAR hoop in the sensor frame so that the holes are aligned.
Insert Upper Bolts
Insert (2) M10x75 bolts through the upper side holes, with the head of the bolt facing outwards. Fasten in place with lock nuts. Torque to 35 ft-lbs.
Insert Front Bolts
Insert (2) M10x30mm bolts through the front holes. Torque to 35 ft-lbs.
Insert Bottom Bolts
Insert (2) M10x30mm bolts through the bottom side holes, with the head of the bolt facing outwards. Torque to 35 ft-lbs.
Connecting Your Batteries
Connect Battery Cables
Connect battery power cables on the right and left side of the robot (yellow Anderson connectors).
Turn Power Switch On
Turn the red power switch to the on position.
NTRIP Setup
Let the support team @triage know to enable NTRIP credentials for the Burro.
Verify Software
Navigate to Home Page
Navigate to the home page on the screen UI.
Open Settings Wheel
Click on the settings wheel at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Click General Tab
Check Software Version
A side menu opens up. Make sure Grande is running either version 5.5 or above. 5.7.4 is needed for DBR mapping.
