Charging
Battery Specifications
The Standard/XL Burro uses
2 x 12V 100Ah Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) batteries connected in series.
The system operates at 24V, and each onboard charger charges one 12V LFP battery
individually.
Alternative battery chemistries cannot be substituted without reconfiguring
the robot.
For reconfiguration assistance, please contact support.
Charging Current
Each Burro/Burro XL pulls approximately 5.5A @ 120V, requiring about 12 hours to charge from 0% to 100%.
To avoid circuit overload, do not connect more than
-
2 units MAX on one dedicated 15A breaker.
-
3 units MAX on one dedicated 20A breaker.
-
5 units MAX on one dedicated 30A breaker.
If breakers trip, verify the number of Burros connected to the circuit. Adjust as needed to stay within the circuit’s capacity.
Charger Compatibility
Extension Cord
Use a female to male extension cord on the Burro’s AC port. Do not attempt to charge batteries other than the ones provided onboard the system, unless directed by a Burro representative.
Monitoring (Burro/Burro XL only)
The VictronConnect app allows you to pair with each charger to receive detailed information on charging status, history, and settings. You may be asked to download the app when troubleshooting an issue with a battery/charger or a loose connection.
Battery Storage Recommendations
If the batteries are to be stored, please disconnect them from the robot and store them in a cool, dry location with adequate ventilation. The recommended storage conditions are between 50-95°F (10-35°C) with approximately 50% humidity.
Maintenance During Storage:
-
Charging Frequency:
Charge the batteries every 90 days to maintain optimal performance. -
Alternative Option:
You may keep the batteries connected to the robot and plugged into a power source when not in use, in which case no additional steps are necessary.
