Regular maintenance ensures that your Burro performs reliably and stays in optimal condition.

Burro is built with weather-resistant components, making cleaning straightforward. However, care should be taken to protect sensitive areas.

General Cleaning Instructions

1

Compressed Air

Use to blow off dirt and debris, maintaining at least 6 inches of distance from the electronics enclosure (Brain Box) and cameras to avoid damage.

2

Hose Cleaning

Use a hose with light water pressure to clean wheels, motors, and other exterior areas. Avoid high-pressure washers directly on the robot and camera sensors at the front and back.

Specific Cleaning Notes

1

Electronics Enclosures

Before using water, ensure all ports (e.g., USB, charging) are sealed and enclosures are fastened securely.

2

Cameras

Clean both front and rear camera lenses regularly using lens wipes or compressed air from a safe distance (6 inches or more). Dirty lenses can degrade visual performance, leading to false obstacle detection.

3

Touch Screen

Wipe the screen with a wet towel or lens wipes to remove debris that could obstruct visibility or cause false touches, potentially triggering unintended behavior.

4

Top Tray

The removable top tray can be pressure washed separately after detachment.

Inspection and Repairs

Daily or Weekly Checks

1

Tires

Inspect for wear or punctures.

2

Cameras and Sensors

Check for dirt, smudges, or visible damage.

3

Cables and Ports

Ensure all are connected securely and free from damage.

4

Cooling System

Inspect external fan enclosures for debris that may hinder airflow.

Jacking and Lifting

Use a forklift to lift Burro when performing:

  • Tire changes
  • Motor replacements
  • Deep cleaning

General Maintenance Tips

1

Deep Cleaning

Perform a deep clean after heavy use in muddy or dusty environments.

2

Weekly Inspection

Inspect the robot weekly for any signs of wear or damage.

3

Sealing Ports

Keep the charging ports and electronics enclosure sealed when not in use.

4

User Manual

Regularly review Burro’s user manual or contact support for best practices on any specific task or repair.

Following these maintenance guidelines will ensure your Burro continues to perform reliably across all tasks and environments.
