General Safety Guidelines

  • Power Management:

    • Always unplug the BURRO from the wall or external charging station before turning the unit ON.
    • Similarly, turn OFF the BURRO before plugging it in to charge.
  • Screen Issues:

    • DO NOT attempt to use the BURRO if there are any issues with the screen (e.g., false touches, black screen, improper calibration). Consult a BURRO representative for assistance.
  • Riding and Weight Restrictions:

    • DO NOT ride, sit, or stand on top of the BURRO.
  • Washing:

    • DO NOT power wash the BURRO or use a pressure washer.
  • Operating Environment:

    • DO NOT operate the BURRO near cliffs, ledges, or public roads.
    • DO NOT program the BURRO to cross a public road, as it will not stop for vehicles traveling over 5 mph (8 kph).
    • DO NOT submerge the BURRO in water or drive it into water deeper than 4 inches (10 centimeters).
  • Obstruction:

    • DO NOT lie down or place objects in front of the BURRO’s path.

Operating on Slopes

When Loaded:

  • DO NOT continuously operate the BURRO for more than 2 minutes on slopes exceeding an 8.5% grade (5 degrees).
  • DO NOT operate the BURRO for any duration on slopes greater than 17.5% grade (10 degrees).

When Unloaded:

  • DO NOT continuously operate the BURRO for more than 2 minutes on slopes exceeding 26% grade (15 degrees).
  • DO NOT operate the BURRO for any duration on slopes greater than 36% grade (20 degrees).

Safety Distance

Always maintain a safe distance from the BURRO when it is actively towing trailers to avoid getting caught between the trailer and an obstacle, wall, or permanent structure.
