Burros can be stored almost anywhere, but customers should be mindful of rain. Units can be left out in the open, but it is highly recommended to cover them with a waterproof tarp or plastic.

Rain and Its Effects

When steady rain is forecasted for an extended period, exposure can result in:

Touch Screen Issues

Calibration Loss

  • The touch screen may lose calibration, which can be re-calibrated.

Complete Failure

  • The touch screen may stop working altogether, requiring replacement.

Camera Condensation

  • This can cause issues with Burro’s Person Follow and Obstacle Handling modes.
  • It can be left to air-dry or dried with a heat gun.

Long-Term Storage

When Burros will not be used for a prolonged period (i.e., a few months):

Battery Disconnection

  • Both batteries should be disconnected by unplugging the gray Anderson connector (as shown in the image on the right) to maintain battery health.

Battery Maintenance

  • To maximize overall battery life, Burro’s batteries should be charged for a full 12 hours once every 3 months and stored in a dry, cool location.
