Storing
Burros can be stored almost anywhere, but customers should be mindful of rain. Units can be left out in the open, but it is highly recommended to cover them with a waterproof tarp or plastic.
Rain and Its Effects
When steady rain is forecasted for an extended period, exposure can result in:
Touch Screen Issues
Calibration Loss
- The touch screen may lose calibration, which can be re-calibrated.
Complete Failure
- The touch screen may stop working altogether, requiring replacement.
Camera Condensation
- This can cause issues with Burro’s Person Follow and Obstacle Handling modes.
- It can be left to air-dry or dried with a heat gun.
Long-Term Storage
When Burros will not be used for a prolonged period (i.e., a few months):
Battery Disconnection
- Both batteries should be disconnected by unplugging the gray Anderson connector (as shown in the image on the right) to maintain battery health.
Battery Maintenance
- To maximize overall battery life, Burro’s batteries should be charged for a full 12 hours once every 3 months and stored in a dry, cool location.
